Pennsic 49 (2022)

Post by Guthrum »

There were a few new people camping with TdB this year. I thought that it might be nice to start a Pennsic specific chat so that everyone can get to know each other and we can discuss anything pertinent to Pennsic

Hey y'all!

I'm Izza. I'm going to be new to your camp this year. I've been attending Pennsic for a few years and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in TdB better. Some of you know me as the "nice neighbor on the ditch".

If there's anything I can help with or answer any questions, I'll be happy to do so. I'm planning to bring a full tent repair kit with me this year, so if anyone needs an on the fly mend or supplies to do so, you're covered :-) .

Beans/Olaf is my partner. He would like to cook one or two nights during the war. He's very flexible on allergy concerns. He's thinking tacos/burritos for a night.

So, pre registration ended last night and we have a total of 27 people. This should give us some good extra space. I’ll keep everyone informed as land negotiations move forward.

Halo, all! Generally known as Éadaoin (ey-uh-deen), but now found a 5th century name for me in the clan as Aideen. Thanks for inviting me to camp with you this year.

Was there a firm decision for Irish night being middle Sunday? I ask because I have some live music loving friends who'd love to swing by for a spell.

I know y'all go for the reenacting aesthetic, but I don't know how far. I have a couple darker wood tiki torches that I could contribute for lighting walking paths in camp if they'll help out. I can also bring a cooler hider that looks like a tree, complete with mug hooks--I do have a 5 gallon cooler to go under it, as well. And a feasting bell with a sun carved into its holder. No hard feelings if they don't fit, just thought I'd offer what I can. Photos for the last two below for reference.

Cooler hider
Feasting bell (though we use natural twine for mounting it now, not the metal U brackets)

Budnahai, Aideen (Éadaoin)

We are planning on having Irish night middle Saturday, but that might change to Saturday based on Norseland is planning a memorial to Thorsten on Sunday, but we may just decide to combine the two events Sunday. We'll talk to Kat at Pennsic.

For the water cooler and bell, I'd say bring them. I do have a three gallon water cooler that we usually use, but it is usually just wrapped in a plaid blanket for blending purposes.

I'm getting pretty excited for Pennsic this year.

For some reason, I'm still not getting the notification emails. I'll just check in from time to time to see if anyone has asked me anything.
