Decoding ancient Roman tablets
There is a great story in the New Yorker about Roger Tomlin, the man who wrote the seminal work on deciphering the Roman wooden, lead, and wax tablets found in Britain. Tomlin is also an editor for the Roman Inscriptions of Britain online which focuses on Latin texts carved in stone.
