The Chieftain claimed our land in the bog between Silver Phoenix and Norseland and a fine spot it was as well. On it, the Clann enjoyed the shade of a maple near the entrance to camp and had grassland clear back across the ditch to where the yurts would be raised under the eaves of the wood. Brogan arrived with the kitchen in tow and soon the shower was erected. Comyn and Sabha arrived on the first Sunday in the afternoon. It came to happen that the white hose of Vger failed us and soon thereafter its mate from Vger II did as well, but the Chieftain soon resolved that problem with a proper metal hose. The dining flys and sheet wall were soon erected to provide shade and privacy from the road. The heat still baked the Clann wherever they sought shelter from the sun, and nearly every activity brought forth a shower of perspiration. Bragg arrived without a tent and had to construct one from a spare tarpaulin and piece of wood, but it served well at least for the first week for which Comyn was witness. During that first week there was only one rain, but it was a heavy downpour which lasted well into the night.

Angus, our neighbor in Norseland this year was not satisfied to be called merely "Angus" (having officially eschewed his former title "little Angus" being the only one of that name nearby) and instead demanded that we call him "big Angus" instead. We more than met his demand by christening him with many titles, of which this is not an exhaustive list: TremAngus, Huge Angus, GargAngus, GigAngus, HumAngus, etc.

The exploits of Bragg and Christianna were recorded in another couple verses of the Tale of the Wandering Bragg enshrining his colorful southern dialect, her now infamous epithet: "More Joy, Less Fish", and much more!

Every night we cooked over an open fire in cast iron and had the most wonderful dinners.

The first week was mostly spent hosting musicians from all of Pennsic every night till the wee hours including Michael Kelly (a true troubadour and all around gentleman) from An Tir, Kerry Bosley the banjo player, the Creepy Bard (who does a mean scottish accent), Sarge the bagpiper, all of Scully - aka White swallows crew which included Kevin, Nick, Cieran, and the sweet voice of Asrune, Andrew formerly known as Kalim (sings SCA tunes), Connor (guitar) of Jack in the Green and Stone soup fame, Kieryn (sings and plays guitar) who always plays Voltaire tunes, and of course the aforementioned Angus, Connal of Prechainne (who sang and played bodhran) and Mordigan (plays an ethereal guitar) of Prechainne.

One evening, in the presence of the druid Vollund, Comyn passed two ges in one night. One upon Kellagh who forevermore "Can not call someone by a false name" and one upon Connal who "must one day visit Long Island".

Middle Saturday Bhriain held a great feast to which Estmar and White Swallows folk attended. That was the evening of Vlad's slave auction and the visitation of the arachnid upon the unwary.
