Crafty Celts is using my symbol!
I just noticed that Crafty Celts is using the symbol I adopted years ago and stamp on all my stuff. The symbol is found in George Bain's Celtic Art so they certainly didn't steal it from me. We both stole it from the same place ;) Also, they have it reversed so technically its not my symbol. Mine sp...

Colm Meaney talks about his Irish accent
A great short video from a Trek convention where the actor who played Miles O'Brien discusses the various Irish accents which are common in film and his own.

The Dagda at Pennsic 37
Sabha had purchased a bunch of different incense up top and the Dagda was kept in constant supply that year.

Re: The Dagda and other Gods in carving
note: I've split these posts off to a new thread in the public forums. You reminded me that that book should be added to the Library . I meant to do it, but never got to it. Maybe you could write something up? I'd be interested in seeing some surviving wood carvings from our period if you can scan ...

Boa Island carvings
While I would agree that the style looks almost too modern, I don't think there's really any extant wooden carvings we can look to from our chosen period to compare them to. The Boa carvings are in stone for one thing so its probable that they would be less detailed due to the difficulty in working ...

The Dagda
I agree with Faellon that the Dagda tradition should be revived!
In fact I think we should carve an entire pantheon!
If anyone wants to have their own Dagda and isn't up to carving one, check this guy out:

Re: Viking era chest inspired by Oseberg 178
The hinges and hasp arrived today! The guy was nice enough to throw in enough hand forged nails to do the job too. Again, its not perfect but it works and its finished!

Samhain Newsletter, 2017
Guthrum arrived early to set up his tent and meet Firewood Ed. Faellon and Aislinn were soon thereafter on site and then Comyn and Bragg followed by Brogan and Aonghus and Aoife. Grania travelled many miles with Konrad and Zeta, Konrad split a lot of wood, Godric and Aylen set up their marquee, Magg...

Re: Viking era chest inspired by Oseberg 178
I washed the chest with tea (6 bags in hot water then steeped over night), then I crushed about 15 iron pills (ferrous sulfate) and made a hot brew with about 2 cups of water and applied that. That brought out all the lines of the wood and aged it a bit. Then I drilled holes for rope handles and lin...

Re: Viking era chest inspired by Oseberg 178
Thanks! The SCA guy has already been contacted and I'm awaiting delivery. I would have liked to make them myself but I also want to use the chest! I reached out to Godric about Einar's stuff since I saw his stuff at summer thyng. This was just practice for possibly making a better one with all sides...
