Imbolc planning minutes

I noticed that the Imbolc planning minutes had been posted to the site, so I have set the permissions on the page for TdB Members and Friends only, and moved it into the Meeting Minutes outline. Thanks to everyone who made this meeting a success.

Any update on getting the hall?

Any status updates on the hall yet?

We are getting pretty close to the event, and we don't seem to have a confirmed date yet. Have we had any word yet on whether we are booked for the hall or for which date? Is the hall not getting back to us on the issue? If we were renting the hall for a typical "send out invitations and get RSVPs and a caterer" type party a delay on their part in confirming the date like this would be unacceptable. We now have 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 weeks until the desired event dates. I know we had talked about setting up some work days to strike coins and make sausage before the event and time is running short to give everyone sufficient notice to plan to get those things done. Maybe we need to consider looking at other types of halls which would accept reservations before the first of the year.

I just got the call from

I just got the call from Aonghus, and we're confirmed for Feb 7th. We will set up a sausage making, but I'm still waiting to hear from Brogan as to when he's available. I was hoping to make it this Saturday, but Brogan says he can't make it.

RE: Sausage making

I picked up the needed part for our Kitchen Aid mixer so we are all set with the equipment needed to stuff sausages. I have the meat grinder attachment as well as the tube that goes on it to actually fill the casings with. This weekend is no good for us either, but as far as I know, we are available the following weekend.

Crafts and Riddles

The Fili reminds the Clann that attendees should arrive at Imbolc with a craft for the craft show and a (hopefully period or "period-esqe") riddle. The best riddle (and riddler) will be honored in song or poem at a future event. A warning: the worst may well be satirized in a similar fashion. Remember, riddles are not limericks (we'll save those for after midnight ;)
