I got a call back from the woman who rents out the (new) hall today.

Our chosen date is available. We are penciled in for Saturday, February 2nd 2008.

The usage fee is $495.00 and there is a $250.00 security deposit that may be remitted in the form of a check (no mishaps and the check is returned).

I was out when she returned my call so did not get to ask if the fireplace was viable.

However, she did offer to show me the place, so... If anyone wants to see it prior for the hell of it, it can be arranged. I would strongly suggest that anyone cooking for this event come down and take a look to anticipate the amenities and in order to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Also, I don’t recall who is in charge of the invites and directions, but my street is a little confusing so it would be best if they consulted with me.

Now, the deal is... once again... we are merely “penciled” in because they do not accept contracts for the year until January (sound familiar?) I’m guessing it’s easier on the book keeping or something.

But that said, even though its not nailed down, it looks like its all a go.
