Stands With a Cloak
Here's Dairchan, showing how the ancient Celts kept warm.... lots of layers! A handcrafted leather helm complete with fur trim (made by Dairchan) keeps the ears warm. A long, multilayered cloak (made by his wife, Elysia) takes care of the rest. Handcrafting clothing and accoutrements is an important part of creating an authentic atmosphere for the clann events. The great thing is that different members of the clann are good at different things. Services are bartered between members, so that everyone shares in the benefit of each others' talents. As it did in the fifth century, this give and take forms a strong community bond.
