Bad weather looms? Fire up the dagda!

The ancient Celts believed in appealing to the gods by sending up offerings, which might include incense, food, or drink. Personal items such as bits of cloth from one's clothing might be tied to a tree branch to keep them foremost in the thoughts of the spirits. At events, the Ard Draoi makes sure to keep the dagda happy with offerings of incense - many times this has chased away rain clouds and brought back the sun! Not only does this keep the spirits happy, it keeps the clann happy too, as the spicy aroma wafts through the campsite.
