Volund concluded the Lanamnus ceremony of Dairchan and Elysia (known by some as handfasting), and decreed that the newly wedded couple be carried to their tent for good luck.
Aparently, being dragged through the brambles, brush, and tree branches of the sacred grove by conveyance other than your own two feet is some sort of Druidic marriage blessing.
