Using this site

I had some questions about what to do and all, so I thought I'd start up a forum for it.
Ok, first I don't see where I can change my password to one that I can remember if I'm at another computer, like at work.
Also, I tried to log on to Drupal, or whatever, and it gave me an unknown user/password error.
That's it for now.

password
ok, somehow I was able to change my password, but only by the link that was in the original email. I still don't know how to change it within my account.
password
Ok, now I see where you click on the edit and it directs you. I don't know why I didn't see it before.
Non-intuitive?
Probably because it isn't where you expect to see it. That's the thing about using a new system, stuff is always where somebody else wanted to put it. However, there is a large amount of configurability with this system so hopefully we can change things that are really not good.

I figured it was there, but I thought you would have to tell me where to look, even though it was in front of my face. I guess I happened to look in front of my face before I got the answer.
How about a member list, not
How about a member list, not just who's online?
Privacy?
It seems like we might not want to list all the members names (though if they are persona names who cares?), and also that the list would be very long. But, yes - I mention this in the scope document I believe - that we should have a secure way of listing all Clan members, and then listing all registered members somehow.
If your user name comes up
If your user name comes up when you are on line, then what would be the problem to see it when it's off line?
Good point. But the who's
Good point. But the who's online block could be easily removed as well. I just bring it up since perhaps folks don't want others to know they're online, a member, registered - oh, I don't know. I guess my only good point is the length of the list - you don't want the block running down for pages and pages with no other content next to it, and if you only list the top ten, is it just the most recent 10? It seems like a dedicated page that would compile and display all members programmatically would be best - kinda like our 'roster' page.
I've seen another site where
I've seen another site where there is a seperate page for who's a member. Then to see who's on the list you would go there. That way if I want to send Fallon a note, I could go to his name and click on it or whatever. I do like having the list of who's on line on the side bar.
Perhaps there is a module
Perhaps there is a module already for that at
http://drupal.org/project/Modules - feel free to browse through the offerings and add whatever you would like to the modules book.
Speaking of Scope
I can look at it, but I can't add to it. Am I suposed to be able to put my comments up?

If you set up a gmail account, send an email from there and I will add you as a collaborator.

Yep
I think it is, do you have a username in the form: @gmail.com ?
It says Sport's google
It says Sport's google account, but then it has my optonline email listed.
You need an invite
I thought I sent you an invite a while ago, do you still have that email? If not I'll send you another one, but I only have a limited number of them left.
K, I found the invite, but
K, I found the invite, but it says You have been invited to try Google Docs & Spreadsheets -- the simplest way to create, store and share documents and spreadsheets on the Web.
It doesn't say gmail. would that be a different invite?
Looking back, now I see that I got two of these invites on the same day. One at 2:50PM and one at 9:55PM

I sent an email on Dec 6 which was an invite to try gmail, do you have that one?

is that not what you see?

I don't mean in the actual comment, but rather on the side bar where it says Recent comments
Oh. I dunno.
I'd have to investigate. Gotta be off line for a while now, bye!
calendar
I think you mentioned this, but a calendar page with all of our events and meetings on it. But we could also add to it things like norseland or prechain events, SCA events that are around or anything else like that. Like, say I'm going to a hammer in upstate, I could post it on the calendar the event along with any pertenant information.
Calendar good
I will definitely look into a shared web calendar then too. Aonghus mentioned it as well.
Update: there is an event module which I haven't looked into yet.
Can you put an indent before
Can you put an indent before a users homepage on the user's list, or put the home page after the user's name. The home pages look like different users.
indents
not sure - that sounds like a tweak to the theme. Possibly it will be a modification to the CSS that drives that particular page. I'm theme stupid right now.
