Meeting Minutes & News Letter Archive

This section will hold the minutes of Clann meetings as recorded by the Sencha. In the earliest days of the Clann, minutes were kept only in hand written form, but over the years it has become the norm to publish the minutes electronically. For a few years Aonghus published a 'What News' report after events which were summarized, usually in-persona accounts of actions taken by the Clann since the last news report. As Fili, Comyn has attempted to maintain this tradition so both Minutes and News are found in this section of the library.

tdbcelts procedure for posting minutes

Write up the minutes in your choice of text editor. There are currently no formatting tools available (this may be added someday) so when writing up minutes, try to use notepad and straight text so you know what to expect. Using spaces to indent will not work - spaces will be lost. Returns after a paragraph will be retained. Some basic HTML will work if you know how to write that. This was discussed recently.

Start a new topic in the forums under Official Business

  • Click on forums in the links along the top of the site
  • Click Official Business
  • Click "Post new Forum topic"
  • Set the Title to something like Beltaine Planning Meeting
  • Copy and paste your document into the Body section.
  • You can add pictures that you or others have uploaded by clicking the small image icon.
  • By default the new post is viewable to the world. At the bottom of the page, click Access and check the boxes for View for "TdB Member" and "Official Friend".
  • Click Publishing Options and check the boxes for Publish and Promoted to Front Page.
  • The administrator will be automatically notified by email when you have successfully posted the new minutes.
  • A user set as a "book administrator" can click Book Outline and add the minutes into the correct section of the library (in this case, the Minutes archive).

Posting the minutes as a forum post allows for comments on the minutes (book pages can't have comments) and keeps it accessible in the forums section. Once the minutes are moved into the "book outline" they will also be "filed away" in a logical section of the library where they can be more easily found again (in this case, associated with the Minutes and Newsletters). Once the planned event is over, the Access permissions may be removed to the post can be seen by all or not as the Clann deems necessary.
