For the last few years we have arranged the camp gate as shown. We use the iron uprights from the spit (not normally used at Pennsic otherwise) to hang the painted Bhriain board and frame it with sheet walls, and we illuminate the entrance with oil lamps at night. We leave just enough room to walk around the gate on either side. This arrangement serves as a very effective "drunk trap" - leaving those who can not navigate it out in the road to call for assistance.
