The same coin die is used on this as the hot strike, however hit was a bronze blank bought from a commercial jewellery supply company.

perfectly round, but inferior in style.

Bronze coin using the hot stamp method.

A bit of bronze is molten into a pellet to form a semi-flat round lump

it is heated agian the put to die to be struck hot - flattening the lump and leaving the impression.
